The definition of Systemic lupus erythematosus (SLE) or Lupus
A connective tissue disease characterised by the generation of antibodies to various tissues. The resulting inflammation can cause kidney damage, arthritis, pericarditis (damage to the membrane surrounding the heart) and vasculitis (inflammation of vessels). SLE is a known cause of PAH.
